March 11 sees the release of a new Rewiggled compliation album, a sequel to the 2011 album of the same name, where The Wiggles will provide a side of covers, and have their songs covered by other artists. Ahead of the album launch, indie pop group San Cisco has released their cover of “H.O.L.I.D.A.Y,” which will appear on the album. Continue reading »

Something you didn’t know you needed is a Wiggles cover of Tame Impala. If you’re not already familiar, the Wiggles are an Australian children’s music group. Before you click away, hear me out. This past week, they covered Tame Impala’s “Elephant” for Triple J’s Like A Version, along with a performance of their song “Fruit Salad.” As on YouTube commenter put it, “If this doesn’t make the hottest 100 then someone is wrong with this country [Australia].” Continue reading »

There is an unwritten law that any and all children’s shows involving original song and dance are terrifying and creepy to anyone over the age of nine. The Wiggles is no exception. Formed in 1991, ABC Music recently celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the “undisputed legends of children’s entertainment” with a disc of covers of some of the group’s family-friendly tunes.
