Brandi Carlile – If It Makes You Happy (Sheryl Crow cover)

This month, Austin City Limits held its eighth annual ACL Hall of Fame ceremony. The inductees were Joe Ely and Sheryl Crow. The latter was covered by, among others, Brandi Carlile, who also delivered Crow’s induction speech. Mara Hruby Releases Video for Mos Def Cover

An R&B slow jam called “The Panties” seems like an unlikely song for a female singer to cover sincerely, but Mara Hruby brings no trace of irony to the Mos Def song. The new one-take video finds Hruby walking along a washed-out beach without, thankfully, ever having to actually utter the words “the panties.” Continue reading »
