The “Back to the Beginning,” event in Birmingham, England, which marked the final live performance by both Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath featured a whole mess of big names in hard rock and metal. So, can it be any surprise at all that Guns n’ Roses were part of the tribute? Perhaps what can be a surprise is that, for most of their set, the band chose to feature four Black Sabbath songs and only two of their own. Continue reading »

On the second night of their 2025 tour, Guns N’ Roses played a live debut: a cover of a late-era Thin Lizzy song. With bassist Duff McKagan handling lead vocals, the band played “Thunder and Lightning,” the title track from Thin Lizzy’s 1983 final record. It was the band’s first time playing the song live. It was also McKagan’s only lead vocal performance of the evening. He dedicated it to his wife, Susan, who was celebrating a birthday that night. Continue reading »

Last night, Seattle’s Experience Music Project celebrated 20 years of Nirvana’s Nevermind with a full cover show. The event combined heavy hitters like The Presidents of the United States of America with local acts like Valis to run through every song on the seminal album with some non-album cuts as bonus tracks. As if that wasn’t enough, original bassist Krist Novoselic joined in for “On a Plain.”

We’ve got videos of seven of the songs below, including the tunes by POTUS/Krist and an appearance by ex-Guns ‘n’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, who was reportedly one of the last people to see Kurt Cobain alive.
