David Bowie has adopted many names. In his glam-rock phase, he was androgynous alien Ziggy Stardust. In his Kraut-funk phase, he was the cocaine-addled Thin White Duke. He never exactly had a noise-rock phase, but if he had we’ve got the perfect name: A Place to Bury Strangers.

The actual A Place to Bury Strangers rival My Bloody Valentine for Loudest Band in the Land. Led by effects pedal manufacturer Oliver Ackermann, the trio known more succinctly as APTBS blasts your face off at every opportunity. However, under all that noise lie pretty melodies and thoughtful lyrics. So “Suffragette City” proves an ideal choice. “Don’t lean on me, man” pretty well sums up APTBS’ entire outlook.
