Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold Releases Free “Where Is My Wild Rose” Cover

Robin Pecknold, the front man for the folksy wonders, Fleet Foxes, is quite the indie darling. After releasing a critically acclaimed EP and full length with his band, he went on tour with Joanna Newsom as a solo act, recording a few songs in the process. Now he has an album coming out in May with his band, but that didn’t stop him from releasing a few gems yesterday.

Included in this trio of songs is a beautiful cover of Chris Thompson’s folk song, “Where Is My Wild Rose.” Pecknold keeps the folksy vibe, just as you’d expect, recalling the tones of the Foxes’ “Oliver James.” Warm reverb soaks the longing vocals while the acoustic guitar transports your consciousness out to fields of wildflowers and tall grass.
