Mumford & Sons headlined the Saturday, September 19th lineup of the 2026 edition of the Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey. And because it was Asbury Park, the band brought out a member of The E Street Band to join them for a Bruce Springsteen cover.
With lead singer Marcus Mumford taking a seat behind the drum kit for the encore, E Street saxophonist Jake Clemons came out to join the band on a cover of Springsteen’s “Atlantic City.” Clemons wandered out on stage during the first verse and joined in on the chorus.
Mumford & Sons have covered “Atlantic City” 10 times before, the most recent being in August 2025. “Atlantic City” first appeared on Springsteen’s 1982 album, Nebraska, which was a stripped-down affair as compared to previous albums. (He ended up releasing the demos after being unable to satisfactorily re-record the songs with the band.)
Springsteen himself recently took the stage in Asbury Park with Jack Antonoff‘s Bleachers to cover Tom Waits‘ “Jersey Girl.”
Mumford & Sons are wrapping up their tour supporting their sixth album, Prizefighter. In January, they’ll play Noah Kahan‘s “Out of the Blue” festival in Cancun, Mexico.
