Inkabee

The final Like A Version cover of March featured Inkabee (AKA Ethan Eggington), an Indigenous artist and rapper from Boorloo (Perth). But this isn’t the artist’s first time in the spotlight: He previously made it to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent and earned 2025’s Australian Young Achiever of the Year Award. Now he’s broken a record as the youngest person ever featured on Triple J’s cover song series (he’s 13).

Inkabee stated that he had already chosen a song for his Like A Version when “Where Is the Love” came on; he was in the car listening to songs with his mom. “I just thought it was the most perfect song for how the world is right now. I love the Black Eyed Peas.” Remarkably, this was the artist’s first time playing with a full band. As the lush instrumental opens up, we are sent straight back to 2003. Inkabee’s vocals come in, clear and confident, with an oddly satisfying digital filter on top. The song couldn’t have been more perfect for the artist, as it shows off his soaring, clear, and melodic vocals, as well as his effortless rapping.
