Post Malone led an all-star band featuring Guns n’ Roses‘ Duff McKagan and Slash, producer Andrew Watt and Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith in a musical tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and all the other musicians who have died in the past year at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
With members of Ozzy’s family, including his wife Sharon looking on in tears, Malone led the group in a performance of Black Sabbath‘s “War Pigs.” The performance was heartfelt and was a fitting tribute to the Prince of Darkness. All of the musicians playing on stage, save Malone, appeared at Osbourne’s “Back to the Beginning” show last summer, which ended up being Ozzy’s final public performance.
Earlier in the afternoon, before the evening’s TV broadcast, Youngblud, Frank Bello (Anthrax), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Adam Wakeman (Osbourne’s band) and II (Sleep Token) were joined onstage by Sharon Osbourne as they were awarded the Grammy for best rock performance for their cover of Sabbath’s “Changes.”
