Tennessee-based country artist Jimmie Allen has been teasing Wild Dreams, The Cover Collection through the label Cleopatra Records. The new album is scheduled to be released early next year. As a teaser, this country artist has veered a bit from his regular fare. The end result? A heart-rending, yearning performance.
Allen’s version of Lady Gaga’s A Star is Born song “Always Remember Us This Way” is balladic and melancholic. Between the rich piano, soaring vocals, and delicious contrast between his chest and head voice, one can’t help but think of the pop great Sam Smith. As the song continues, the feeling intensifies.
