Texan hard rock band Nothing More has released a new cover of Nine Inch Nails‘ “We’re in This Together,” 11 years after they first tried tackling the song.
“Together,” which first appeared on Nine Inch Nails’ 1999 The Fragile is a little more poppy than some of their material and in their take, Nothing More lean into it. (In some ways, harder than Trent Reznor does on the original.)
Lead singer Johnny Hawkins said, “‘We’re in This Together’ sounds like a love song colliding with a war cry. [Writer/orator] Alan Watts once said that ‘you are the universe experiencing itself’ — and this song embodies that truth. It’s us against the world, and this song is my inner monologue.”
The band’s most recent record is 2024’s CARNAL. They will be hitting the road in January.
