Kevin Bacon covered Sabrina Carpenter…with his pigs on backing vocals. The actor now has a growing list of cover songs and can add “When Did You Get Hot?” to the list. Putting a parody spin on the lyrics, changing the line “Said, ‘Sabrina, don’t you know Devin?” to “Said, ‘I’m Bacon, you must be Kevin,”
Carpenter commented under his video, “the vibes on the farm are immaculate.” It’s already high praise to get the artist to comment on a cover song. But she followed up by sharing the video on her own Instagram with the caption “least expected but best cover of the year award!!”
“When Did You Get Hot?” is one of Carpenter’s latest releases, from her album Man’s Best Friend. Bacon’s choice to cover it highlights the song’s quick rise in visibility. The actor has an ongoing series of stripped-back covers, including singing Beyoncé’s “Heated” to his goats and Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” with his wife, Kyra Sedgwick. This cover was no different, performed in the sun with himself and his guitar. His vocals carried an easy, conversational tone that arguably is the only way to sing a pop song to pigs.
