The song “Ultimate” was first featured in the 2003 film Freaky Friday, featuring Lindsay Lohan. The song (in the movie) was performed by Pink Slip, the lead character Anna’s band. The lead singer of Canadian rockers The Beaches has a distinctly rich and low timbre compared to Lohan’s, so what happens when they cover the song?
It has a hint of country combined with rock n’ roll. The song already has a nostalgic-ness and synergy like no other. Some even say that The Beaches are quite similar to Pink Slips. This version ends up adding an unmistakable new vocal depth to the already earwormish composition.
