Singer/songwriter Drew A. Will has released a new cover of a Bob Dylan song, after getting some attention with his take on Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” last year. This new song is a take on the Blonde on Blonde track, “She Belongs to Me.”

Will’s version of the song slows things down a little bit from the original. It’s also more sparse, opening with just guitar, piano, banjo and echo. But overall tone of the song has the same effect of the original. The video released on YouTube features Will sitting on the floor of a bathroom as he sings the song, accompanied by his guitar. (Will played all the tracks on his version of the song.)

“To me, the words suggest that the subject cannot be possessed by anyone and certainly does not belong to the singer,” says Will. “If anything, it’s the subject who has completely possessed the singer’s entire mind and being!” With lyrics like “She’s got everything she needs / She’s an artist and she don’t look back”, it’s clear this woman does things her own way and doesn’t care what anyone thinks.”

Will’s cover of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” released last year, was a live track recorded as he sat at the piano.
