New York Hardcore musician Walter Schreifels has contributed two Pink Floyd covers for a new album designed to raise money for the Randolph County Animal Shelter.

Schreifels, who has played in the bands Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits, among others, contributes Pink Floyd’s “Pigs on the Wing,” parts 1 and 2 to open and close the album, placing the tracks where they were placed on the Pink Floyd Animals album. Schreifels’ take is pretty close to the original, featuring just vocals and a guitar.

The album, titled The Dogs of Hope, is raising money for a no-kill animal shelter located in rural Alabama. It will be released on August 1st and is currently available for pre-order from Iodine Recordings on Bandcamp. The record also includes performances by Killswitch Engage, Orange 9mm and Drought, among others. Currently only “Dogs on the Wing (Part 1)” is available to listen to.
