The Canadian country/rock group The Redhill Valleys have just released a cover of a 90s classic: The Wallflowers‘ “One Headlight.” The original 1997 version of the song was the second single from Bringing Down the Horse, the second album by the Jakob Dylan-led band.
‘One Headlight’ is a song that has always resonated with us,” said the band in a press release. “The lyrics carry a weight, but there’s also a sense of movement, like something pulling you forward.” The song is not as bleak as the original, with the voices of both bassist Chelsea McWilliams and guitarist Tim Allard singing the song as a duet.
The band, which is from Hamilton, Ontario has been growing in popularity in the past few years and received multiple Country Music Association of Ontarion nominations for “Best Group” and “Best Country Artist.” Their last release was the Travel Well EP, which comprised of two volumes. The group has upcoming shows booked in May for Toronto and Burlington, Ontario.
