R.E.M.’s Peter Buck teamed up with a few other musician friends to cover a song from the 1968 film, Wild in the Streets, to raise money for one of his favorite podcasts.

Buck, along with Pylon’s Vanessa Briscoe and Camper Van Beethoven’s Victor Krummenacher to record a cover of the song “The Shape of Things to Come.” The tune is only available through Patreon, for those who sign up to support the podcast Revolutions Per Movie, which discusses rock n’ roll themed films. Buck appeared on the show last year to discuss Wild in the Streets, calling it “a crazy teen revolution rock flick.”

“The Shape of Things to Come” was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and was released as a single, credited to Max Frost and the Troopers, characters in the film. It reached #22 on the Hot 100 in September 1968.

Those who sign up to support Revolutions per Movie, will receive a flexidisc featuring the song, as well as stickers and bi-weekly or weekly episodes ad-free. While Buck’s song isn’t available on-line, you can check out the trailer below, and stream the movie on Amazon.
