Jordana (aka Jordana Nye) is a bedroom pop singer and solo artist from Washington D.C. Recently she took to the stage for a pared-down cover of “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer for the series AV Undercover (the same one Dawes just covered “Common People” for). This performance marks the sixth installment of the ninth season of AV Undercover and was recorded at Second Take Sound in Midtown Manhattan.
Before beginning her solo interpretation of the flowing and positive song from ‘97, the artist humbly said “Everyone does this song, I feel like, but it’s a classic, so I’m going to try and do it justice.”
The cover began unexpectedly slow, with a clean guitar sound and gentle fingerpicking. Her slightly airy and gentle voice sounded exactly like the original. And something about the slower, pared-down cover makes it all the more intimate.
