Clairo recently released her new album Charm. Since the release, the artist has recreated and put out a cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Brooklyn Baby” for Spotify Singles. She reimagined Lana’s ethereal layered vocal soundscape with her twist. As it turns out, Clairo’s indie-popish timbre and pleasant airiness are a perfect fit for covering the alt-pop artist.

As the vintage-style keys sink into the guitar and crescendo into a fuzzed-out yet deep beat, we’re entirely entranced. Something about the quaintness applied to “Brooklyn Baby,” which describes getting down to beat poetry, hydroponic “herbs,” and making music together–it all feels so synergistic in Clairo’s hands.

  1. I think it’s Clairo. Clario sounds like a Microsoft app for making flowcharts.
