Siiickbrain is an artist with a certain gravity about her. Described as an ‘alternative newcomer,’ she blazes with confidence and drips with emotive artistry. News outlets are already comparing Siiickbrain to Kurt Cobain, so it’s fitting she covered Nirvana’s “All Apologies,” a song about not being able to keep up with the expectations others have. “Like Cobain, Siiickbrain uses her songwriting to boldly confront and address her mental health issues,” the Recording Academy wrote when posting this video.

The cover was performed live with a cellist, guitarist,  bassist, and drummer. This reimagined version harkens back to the original with its grunge feel and the melancholy cello lines but cultivates a slightly different emotional pain due to the clear, slightly less distorted vocal delivery.
