Lauv aka. Ari Staprans Leff is a San Francisco pop artist who took the internet by storm with his 2015 release “I Like Me Better.” He’s been gaining more and more traction ever since, and recently cooked up a version of a Miley Cyrus song “Used to Be Young” for the BBC Live Lounge.
“Used to Be Young” has flooded radio stations across the country and for good reason. For Lauv’s cover, he accompanied himself on the keys. As his glittery grey fingertips swept across the ivories, the song crescendoed into a gentle forest of sound. But somehow, the celeste-like quality of the Nord paired with purity, sincerity, and vibrato in Lauv’s voice is simply unmatched, and leaves us craving a Miley x Lauc collaboration.
As the tune fades out, we can hear the artist’s voice faltering in an emotive fade-out. Listen to it below.
