Amy Lee & Dave Stewart Turn Everly Brothers’ “Love Hurts” Into a Dark Power Ballad

Evanescence’s lead singer Amy Lee has teamed up with Eurythmics lead Dave Stewart to release a cover of the Everly Brothers 1960 song, ‘Love Hurts’, released as part of the Hey Doll Baby online festival that celebrates the life and work of the Everly Brothers.

Lee’s powerful vocals are in full display, above a gloomy electronic beat, and steady piano line, which builds throughout the track. Stewart’s deeper tones help add to the somber tone, particularly in the intermittent harmonies throughout.
