In support of their latest album, Dance Fever, English rockers Florence + The Machine stopped by radio station SiriusXM to play a couple of tracks, including a new cover of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.”
Accompanied by a single acoustic guitar, lead singer Florence Welch’s full powerful vocals are on full display. Her performance is a powerful counterpoint to Lennon’s vocal – while his is quieter and sadder, Welch is fully owning her emotion and the distress it’s caused her. Late flurries from a harp echo the motif that Lennon whistles in the original, further adding to the effect of this great cover. Check it out below:
