As a part of her promotional efforts for her second album Crying Forever, Amy Shark appeared on Triple J’s Like a Version to perform a cover of the Fall Out Boy hit “Sugar We’re Going Down.”
While the original would certainly have you pumped up about previous partners with its catchy melody and soaring chorus, Shark’s version is a more somber affair, thinking of loves lost and wanting. Accompanied with a cello and soft guitars, Shark makes you really appreciate the lyrics of the original, now re-cast as a soft rock ballad. Check out the cover below.
