Welcome to Cover Me Q&A, where we take your questions about cover songs and answer them to the best of our ability.

On October 29, 2007, Ray Padgett posted the first Cover Me post, a full album tribute to Bob Dylan’s John Wesley Harding LP. Since then he’s written about 1,400 more posts, and the staff he’s put together has contributed another 2,000 or so more.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Cover Me’s existence, and we’re planning to spend the year celebrating with a series of special posts. Join us tomorrow for the first of these, which is centered around those all-important writers, without whom Cover Me wouldn’t be Cover Me…

From the 14th through the 24th, you’ll get to meet a member of the Cover Me staff up close and personal, as he or she talks about the ten cover songs that matter the most to him or her. They could be favorites; they could be tied to significant personal events; they could help the writer understand just what makes a cover song special.

We’re kicking off the series tomorrow at 10 AM EST (what better time?) with Sean Balkwill, who came up with the question What ten cover songs matter to you? We hope you’ll enjoy our one hundred and ten answers.

Cover Me is now on Patreon! If you love cover songs, we hope you will consider supporting us there with a small monthly subscription. There are a bunch of exclusive perks only for patrons: playlists, newsletters, downloads, discussions, polls - hell, tell us what song you would like to hear covered and we will make it happen.
