We don’t see a lot of gospel songs done over here on Cover Me Songs. Active Child, the moniker of electronic musician Pat Grossi, opened up the new year with a chilling cover of the 1905 hym “His Eye Is On The Sparrow,” and trust us, it won’t bring flashbacks of being forced to go to church.
Active Child does everything right with this minimal cover. Using just piano and vocals, the cover is anything but church-y. Instead, it is fragile and haunting, which is just the way we like it.
