Probably every song the Beatles have ever written is someone’s favorite song. “If I Fell,” off A Hard Day’s Night, is not one of the band’s most famous songs (although when talking about the Beatles that’s certainly a relative term), but rest assured that someone out there would be upset if anyone put out a cover of this song that sounds radically different. That person will not like singer-songwriter Greta Link’s new cover, but everyone else will.

Link sings this tune from the outer reaches of space through chiming guitars. She chucks the three-part harmony of this classic Beatles tune in favor of her solo, sleepy voice which comes through loud and clear (and gorgeously soothing) despite the reverberation. The song was recorded in her bedroom, which is evidently the inside of a large cave. Watch the trippy video she made for the song below.

  1. It’s more like the version of this song that appeared in the 2007 movie, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.
