It appears that by coincidence this week has brought two different covers of tracks from Neil Young‘s 1992 album Harvest Moon. The album was sort of a follow up to the classic 1972 Young album Harvest, featuring many of the musicians from the original session. Both albums display more of Young’s Americana, folksy, roots-vibe in contrast to his growling Canadian rocker style.

Futurebirds are a roots-rock band from Athens, GA who have developed a unique sound called ‘psychedelic country.’ From comfy couches in Ian’s Cabin at Campout East, they settle in for a perfect live take of “Unknown Legend.”  Argentine-American musician Diego Garcia recently visited the Albany public radio station WEXT and performed an acoustic cover of the title track “Harvest Moon.”  Watch the Futurebirds jam below and stream the Diego Garcia track.
