Watch: St. Vincent Covers Pearl Jam’s “Black” at Portlandia Show

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s Portlandia promo tour has led to some unexpected covers. We already saw the duo sing “Push It” with Thao + Mirah, and at Saturday night’s New York show St. Vincent joined the lineup, performing a cover of Pearl Jam’s “Black.”

The song choice isn’t surprising, given that Eddie Vedder guests in an episode of the new season (as does St. Vincent’s Annie Clark herself). Plus, with recent covers of Big Black, “Big Black Mariah,” and now “Black,” Ms. Clark seems to have a pattern in her cover choices (she also has a song called “Black Rainbow”).
