It’s hard to believe that Rihanna’s most recent album, Talk That Talk, is her sixth studio album. The seemingly unstoppable pop star has not only produced hit after hit, but has also inspired a slew of pretty fantastic covers. Her newest single, “You Da One,” has inspired several covers, including two by Tim Halperin and Andi.
For those of you unfamiliar with American Idol, Halperin made it to the semifinals of season 10. His cover of Rihanna is something you would expect of an American Idol contestant – a smooth and soothing acoustic rendition. Iceland’s Andi – who we’ve seen cover pop diva songs in the past – takes the pop hit and warps it into an ethereal and sexy jam. She brings her standard nu jazz feel that we’ve heard in the past and does so with perfection.
