Here we are in the new year, but the 2011 song that you either love or hate continues to make headlines. “Video Games,” the internet-spawned hit was featured on the CW’s TV series Ringer and propelled “gangsta Nancy Sinatra” Lana Del Rey into the limelight. We saw quite a few bands like Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle Club and Freakish Atlantic release their versions of the track, but it appears 2012 has brought the finest take yet.

San Francisco-based Silver Swans, a duo who gets their name from three fictional characters in the Wonder Woman comic book series, makes the pop song even poppier. Featuring Ann Yu on vocals and Jon Waters on sampling, guitar, and keys, the Silver Swans bring a hypnotic, synth dreamy-pop style to the track. Listen and download the single below, then check out their covers of Fleet Foxes and the National.
