LA Duo DWNTWN, consisting of Jamie Leffler and Robert Cepeda, has been pumping out consistent and original electro-pop tunes online for just about a year now. If you scan through their YouTube account you’ll see remixes of some of the biggest tunes in the last year. While remixes are fun, they aren’t nearly as exciting as a good cover. It seems like this duo may have figured that out just in time to deliver the perfect synth pop cover of Angus & Julia Stone‘s huge hit “Big Jet Plane.”

“Big Jet Plane” is pretty heavy in its ode to love and all of its subtleties, which makes it extremely appropriate to add a little synth to make the song that much more loveable. When listening to the original you might not have ever considered dancing along to it in a dark downtown bar, but DWNTWN’s cover is going to make you fall in love in the middle of a crowded dance floor. Leffler and Cepeda do a stellar job at reminding us of all the potential there is in the dance pop genre, and why we fell in love with it in the first place. Check out their cover of Angus & Julia Stone’s “Big Jet Plane,” and resist the sudden urge you might have to break out into a dance that worships this talented pop duo.
