As is the case with many Bob Dylan songs, there is no shortage on covers of “Knockin on Heaven’s Door.” Written and performed by Dylan for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, the list of heavyweights who have tackled it is impressive. Eric Clapton, The Grateful Dead, Guns N’ Roses, The Alarm, Warren Zevon, Avril Lavigne, and U2 are only a handful of the many to cover it.

Add L.A. indie folkers Waves and Waves and Lael to that list. Performing an ‘electro-space-folk’ version of the track, Waves and Waves aka Matt Saladino gets rich vocals from Lael Neale. The song is a refreshing take on the Dylan classic. You can have a listen and download below (via blahblahblahscience).

  1. I love your blog! But that Nintendogs ad is killing me! Every page, every time, it won’t shut up. It makes it hard to listen to the music… Just thought I’d let you know…. love your work tho!
