Last year, Boston singer-songwriter Marisa Nadler released Covers Volume I. We named it one of the best cover albums of the year, so needless to say, we’re excited to report she’s recorded a follow-up. Once again, it will be for sale exclusively through crafting online marketplace Etsy, but you can download three tracks now (and her cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Winter Lady” here).
In the songs she released to Soundcloud, Nadler covers Bruce Springsteen’s “The River,” Clinic’s “Distortions,” and Bob Dylan’s “Farewell Angelina.” She enlists folk friends Faces on Film and Red Heroine to provide backing vocals on the tracks. They offer the same beautiful, haunting folk that you’d never tire of. “I’m not really into the fad of ‘ironic’ cover songs so I just decided to covers songs I love,” she wrote about the set. “I hope you love them too.” Download ‘em below, then check out the full tracklist.
