English five-piece The Horrors have come a long way since their Gothic garage punk beginnings. They’ve overhauled their sound with a dose of psychedelica and produced a number of solid covers, including a standout take on Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had.” Fellow Brits We Have Band recently turned the cover tables on them with their take on “Still Life.”

The London DIY trio, comprised of Darren Bancroft and husband and wife Thomas and Dede Wegg-Prosser, brighten up the serious psychedelic sound of “Still Life” for their cover. They trade out The Horrors’ gloom of for some sharp electronics and swap Faris Badwan’s deep vocals for airier ones. Wisely, however, they keep the richly layered sound that The Horrors crafted on the original track. Listen below.
