The aptly-named Jingle Punks Hipster Orchestra burst onto the scene in April with their cover of the Strokes’ “Under Cover of Darkness” and have been recording cool orchestral cover videos ever since. They are “the ultimate marriage of high and low brow culture,” which does sound like something a hipster would say. Now they’ve jumped aboard the latest cool-kids trend: covering Nirvana. They’ve recorded a tribute EP titled The Nirvana Sessions that drops Tuesday, almost in time for the frequentlydiscussed 20th anniversary of Nevermind.

Below, you can watch a video of the group doing “Lithium” and stream the whole EP. The conceit loses a little something without the videos, but the performances still display noticeably more talent than those The String Quartet Tribute to… discs. “Come As You Are” in particular takes some brave liberties via scorching violin solos.
