If you’re a frequent reader of Cover Me, you may recall a piece we posted a couple months back featuring five covers of Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory,” proving that our cover-finding chops are better than Mother Monster’s (as they should be). This post happens to contain our first mention of Andi (a.k.a Andrea Kristinsdottir), a globe-hopping singer/songwriter who’s currently based in New York. The nu-jazz musician is at it again with a cover of Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go,” and (unsurprisingly) it’s just as unique as her first one.

Soft-sung harmonies and interesting instrumentation make this new wave-type rendition of “I Wanna Go” stand out from many others you may have come across in the past. The heavy beat and synth of the original is replaced with light drums, bells, and a sitar, calling to a mind a yoga studio rather than a dance club. The accompanying video is just as unexpected as the cover itself. See and download for yourself below.
