Busdriver may be a rapper, but anyone who boasts work with both Islands and Deerhoof on his resume has more than a passing familiarity with the weirder side of indie pop. So perhaps a cover of an old-school Animal Collective jam shouldn’t come as a surprise. Not only does his upcoming single boast a “Leaf House” A side though, but he also released a new music video to go along with it. Guess what…it’s weird.
Filmed on his Android phone, the “Leaf House” video finds Busdriver (Regan John Farquhar to his family) competing for space with plush puppets in a blanket fort. There’s a lot of joyously spastic dancing by all parties involved over a lush electropop soundscape. If you like juggling, blanket forts, and Bill Cosby sweaters, you’ll like this video.
