Last year Robyn released her Body Talk project – two EPs then an album – which has yielded endless covers. Just last month, in fact, we heard a new one courtesy of Sarah Jaffe with “Hang with Me.” The latest Robyn cover, though, looks a little further back, to 2007 and “With Every Heartbeat.” The song was a top-ten hit in the U.K. (#1), Belgium (#2), and Denmark (#7).
This last statistic proves the most relevant, as today’s cover comes from Danish synth-rock trio Turboweekend. They recorded “With Every Heartbeat” backstage at Denmark’s Northside Festival for DR, the country’s national radio station. The video finds the three in a cramped trailer, finding the balance between acoustic guitars and dance beats. Check it out below.
