When Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” debuted, we expected a flood of high-profile covers, just as happened almost instantly with “Viva La Vida.” So far the reception has been more muted. Boyce Avenue performed what we declared the first real cover over a month ago and then…nothing. Now, finally, we have a follow-up: Robyn, who performed it during her set at the BBC Live Lounge.
As you would expect, Robyn dance-pops it out. Joy pours out through her upbeat delivery, aptly compensating for the fact that this arrangement sounds just a little out of her range. The lyrics, alas, remain unchanged. Download it below.
