A few hours ago we heard Birdy covering Ed Sheeran for Radio 1’s Live Lounge and there’s already a follow-up: Friendly Fires, who hit the studio earlier today to perform Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory.” They give the pop hit a smooth indie makeover without losing an ounce of the fun.
The trio expressed some reticence performing the song, perhaps because it’s been covered so many times before. No matter. Their indie-pop performance keeps the anthem sing-along, but adds some different synth lines and a (relatively) toned-down bass line. Check it out below.
