Staten Island, New York children’s chorus PS22 Chorus has done it again. After covering artists like MGMT (when they, appropriately enough, covered the band’s hit “Kids”) and Phoenix (with their gorgeous, down tempo cover of “Lisztomania”), the fifth-graders continue amping up their indie cred with a cover of Toronto “It” band Austra‘s “Energy”.

The chorus has become a viral hit in the past year or so, not only covering pop artists like Adele and Katy Perry but also for releasing videos of great cover songs by breaking under-the-radar bands. While PS 22’s Austra cover is an a cappella chorus version and the original track is an epic electropop confection, the talented fifth graders capture the beauty of the track (especially in the lyrics “I don’t know/but it isn’t easy/ I transform into energy”). The track is one of their best in the past few months. Check it out below.
