Last year retro indie pop duo The Bird and the Bee recorded an entire album of Hall & Oates songs, Interpreting the Masters Volume 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates. Could Volume 2 be close behind? A recent posting by the band on their Soundcloud site raises hope that a Madonna bug may have bitten the band.
Wishful thinking, perhaps. According to the note accompanying the post, the band recorded the song after misunderstanding a request from their publishers. Too good to keep under wraps, the result features the trademark tones of a Casio keyboard and suitably aloof vocals from singer Inara George. Great vocorder backing vocals as well!
