Strand of Oaks has been promoting his latest album, Pope Killdragon, hard this winter, and that’s meant quite a few covers. We last heard from Timothy Showalter a little over a month ago with his fragile version of Phosphorescent’s “Wolves.” He’s kept plenty busy since then, though, and with three new covers released, it seemed about time to catch up.

The most recent is a quiet acoustic version of Damien Jurado’s “Ohio,” recored for a terrific recent HearYa session. A few days prior, he released a cover of Joe Pug’s “Hymn #101” to celebrate a joint tour. Pug covered him in return, and we’ve got that below as well. The final cover is a little older, and not entirely new to this site. We pointed you to the mixtape it came on a couple months ago, but never actually posted the tune until now. Strand of Oaks takes a very different approach on his version of the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody),” and it is well worth revisiting.
