We hate the Strokes! Well, that’s not really true; we’re just annoyed with them. See, we have a whole slew of behind-the-scenes searches, feeds, and bookmarks using the word “cover” that we check daily to keep abreast of news. This mess of constant updates leads us to many of the lesser-known gems we bring you. When a band as big as the Strokes titles their huge comeback single “Under Cover of Darkness,” though, that throws off our whole process. For a week, the Angles standout pretty much took over every “cover”-based feed we had.

Thankfully, though, we can begin to consider forgiving Casablancas and co. for the literally minutes of wasted time they caused us. Yes, the aforementioned song-that-shall-not-be-named has finally begun inspiring its own covers. First up: the embarrassingly-named Jingle Punks Hipster Orchestra, performing their eight-piece instrumental arrangement. Then, U.K. singer Delta Maid takes the opposite approach, stripping it back for a funky acoustic rendition that knocks us out every time. Which do you prefer?
