What do you get when two up-and-coming artists channel the soulful grit of our generation’s version of early ‘60s Soul/R&B music? To find out, look no further than Young the Giant and Mike Posner and their drastically differing takes on Adele’s latest single, “Rolling In the Deep.”
First, hip California five-piece Young the Giant tips their cap to Adele in their acoustic rendition. Lead singer Sameer Gadhia channels her melodic, rock and roll vibe and transforms it into a soothing crawl. It does Adele justice and then some. The harmonies in the pre-chorus and chorus give the tune an added depth. Mike Posner’s cover goes in a bit of a different direction. It toes the line between electronic and pop, which seems to be his forte.

I do love Adele’s version!! And they just don’t hold a candle to her greatness. Her voice and her emotion are so sensible.. Besides, I prefer Mike Posner (strange isn’t it?)
