Daft Punk, Tron score-ers and wearers of shiny helmets, are pretty much deities within the realm of house and electronic music. Moustache Machine, who also hail from le France, recently took on the gods by covering the original duo’s “Something About Us.”

Switching out Daft Punk’s original funk bass line for a more electronic vibe, Moustache Machine warps the original sensual song into something you would find in a trippy Jim Henson movie. Not that that’s a bad thing by any means. It’s synth-heavy, a bit dark, and everything you want out of a house slow-jam. Take a listen, close your eyes, and maybe the Goblin King will appear right before your eyes.
