This March, we pit 64 Beatles covers against each other in what we call Moptop Madness.

Yesterday’s winners: The Black Keys, “She Said She Said” and Al Green, “I Want to Hold Your Hand”

It may be Sunday, but there’s no rest for our weary Beatles cover players. Two more battle royales gear up with underdog Coope, Boyes and Simpson challenging titan Bob Dylan, and mellow Spiers and Boden taking on the much louder Damned.

Listen to each pairing below, then vote for your favorite. For added sway, try to convince others to vote your way in the comments. Voting closes in 24 hours.

Coope, Boyes and Simpson – Think for Yourself

  1. BOB DYLAN is racing twice here, instead of THE DAMNED.

  2. The song is there, ( Help), it’s just mislabeled.

  3. The “Think for Yourself” is absolutely fantastic, but I have to give the first pairing to Bob Dylan because his “Something” is simply gorgeous. It’s a shame to see Coope, Boyes & Simpson knocked out, however.

With the second pair, though, I never liked the Spiers & Boden version of “Run for Your Life”, Cowboy Junkies had the menace that this fluffy version is sorely SORELY lacking. The Damned, on the other hand, were my pick last time out, and so they are again.

  4. Labeling fixed. Thanks guys.
