Quickies rounds up new can’t-miss covers. Download ‘em below.

• Australia’s Triple J radio is on a roll. Last week found them recording Yeasayer’s infectious Seal cover and this week Kate Nash hit the studio to perform Denise Williams’ Footloose smash “Let’s Hear It for the Boy.”

• Last month we premiered our “Five Favorite ‘Hold It Against Me’ Covers (So Far).” Today we remind you why we added that “so far.” Carosel’s may be the best yet.
• Last week the Cars released their first new song in 24 years. While we wait for a cover of that one (let’s go, people), we can enjoy Elie Charpentier’s delicate folk version of an obscure little number called “Just What I Needed.”

• The Last Royals excited us earlier this month with EMF’s “Unbelievable.” They keep the 1990 cover loving going with Prince/Sinead O’Connor‘s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” complete with recorder.

• Mother Sun Flower is a psychedelic metal band from Baltimore. On “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues,” they remind us that no one is more metal than Skip James.
