Just last week, we wrote about Dirty Beaches covering Johnny Cash’s “The Folk Singer,” and now he’s back with another fuzzed-out cover. This time, he takes on the Stooges’ romping “No Fun,” a song full of energy that is, despite its name, quite fun.

Building off of his formula for his Johnny Cash cover, Alex Zhang Hungtai strips the song down to a single electric guitar, his voice, a drum machine and plenty of haze. This time, though, it lends the tune an apocalyptic edge. Not only is he having no fun, he sounds to be in a great deal of mental anguish. Check it out below. (via Sound on the Sound)
