Quickies rounds up new can’t-miss covers. Download ‘em below.

• For years being in an Apple ad was the pinnacle of sell-out success. But what about all those other smart phones? Surely they deserve their own indie-breakout soundtracks. Well, Rachel Goodrich’s Micachu and the Shapes cover was featured in a Blackberry ad last month! The song? “Golden Phone.” Here’s hoping that pays the bills.

• Hat tip to The Cover Lovers for turning us onto this one. For their debut single, Bank Heist turned Kate Bush’s “Running up that Hill” into an electro dance jam. Info on the group seems slim, so instead let’s speculate as to whether This Town is Oscar-worthy.

• Eagulls took their name from a Shaggy song. Turns out there’s already a band called the Eagles though, so they changed to spelling. Copyright reasons. Their debut album is titled Hotel Nevada (not really).

• We just saw one tribute to the recently-deceased Trish Keenan a few days ago. Now we return with a second Broadcast cover. This flippin’ incredible performance comes from The Sight Below’s Rafael Anton Irisarri and singer-songwriter Benoit Pioulard. Says Irisarri: “She was a brilliant, talented artist and her music became a huge inspiration to both of us. R.I.P. Trish, we’ll miss you.”

• Speaking of tributes, Button Eyes keeps the Vic Chesnutt love going with a slow electro-funky “Flirted with You All My Life.” Beautiful cello courtesy of Will Calderbank. The Diamond Family Archives chips in on guitar.
